陶家宅是清末儒商陶长青的故宅，始建于1908年，是一座相当典型且完整的四合院建筑。

随着陶氏家族的迁移，百年大宅逐渐荒凉与破旧。经过修缮之后，在原有的基础上改造成了一座名为“一尺花园”的民宿，兼具咖啡馆的功能，同时融入了一些现代的元素，让这里焕然一新。

2012年1月14日，陶家宅列为浦东新区文物保护单位，入围联合国科教组织的亚太地区老建筑保护奖。

穿过平桥进到内院，菌菌立刻被艺术家师建民的作品「天坑」所吸引，坚硬的不锈钢在他的手下变成了凝结的流水，如此中国式的写意，怎会让人不爱？
